Analysis of fatal adverse drug events recorded in several Italian emergency departments (the MEREAFaPS study)

Fatal Adverse Events (FADEs) are a major public health problem, and some FADEs could be preventable. The aim of the present study is to describe frequency, drugs involved preventability in collected through MEREAFaPS Study between 2012 2018. All cases including outcome “death” have been examined. We excluded with vaccine-related ADEs, overdose or suicide, ADEs occurred during hospitalisation. Two trained assessors evaluated all fulfilling inclusion criteria. ADEs’ was applying Schumock Thornton algorithm. During period, we observed 429 death, 92 which were excluded. remaining 337 187 women 150 men, mean age 79 77 years, respectively.
